Kimiko Designs originally came to us because they had been trying to nail down a more simplified, yet authentic Kanji for several years. And after we were brought in to give the brand a face lift, we discovered it went beyond just the Kanji. Our brand audit unearthed 10 years of different shades of red, tweaked logos, unorganized messaging, etc. Not only did we clean up the Kanji (we have a designer on staff that speaks Mandarin), but also narrowed down their color palette to one PMS color that popped against deliverables with tons of white space. A tagline was also set in place to play off of their logo and the fact that they also do commercial furniture planning which often involves cubicles—“Think Outside the Cube”. Since the original brand assessment and audit, we’ve added clever direct mail campaigns, presentations, and even staff resume design.
